We’re Here to Help When Our Offices Are Closed
At Panda Bear Pediatrics, we understand that children can become sick or develop medical concerns outside of regular office hours.
To help families when our offices are closed, we provide access to an after-hours telephone triage service for medical concerns that cannot wait until the next business day.
How to Reach After-Hours Care
If you need medical guidance after regular office hours, please call your usual Panda Bear Pediatrics office number and follow the instructions to reach our after-hours triage service.
Collegeville Office: 610-409-8050
Gilbertsville Office: 610-323-5415
Our after-hours triage service can help assess your child’s symptoms and provide guidance on appropriate next steps, including whether your child should seek immediate medical attention or can wait until the office reopens.
For routine appointments, prescription refill requests, and nonurgent questions, please contact our office during regular business hours.
Medical Emergencies — Call 911
IF YOUR CHILD IS EXPERIENCING A LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY.
Medical emergencies may include:
- Loss of consciousness or unresponsiveness.
- Severe difficulty breathing.
- Severe or uncontrolled bleeding.
- A seizure lasting five minutes or longer, repeated seizures without recovery, or a first-time seizure.
- Serious injuries or significant head trauma.
- Other symptoms that may be immediately life-threatening.
Do not wait for a return call from our after-hours triage service if your child is experiencing a life-threatening emergency.
Urgent Medical Concerns
For medical concerns that are not immediately life-threatening but may require prompt attention, please contact our office or after-hours triage service for guidance.
Examples may include:
- Persistent fever or concerning symptoms.
- Ear pain or a worsening sore throat.
- Vomiting, diarrhea, or concerns about dehydration.
- Minor cuts, sprains, or injuries.
- Worsening respiratory symptoms without severe breathing difficulty.
Infants younger than 3 months with a temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher require immediate medical evaluation. Do not delay seeking care while waiting for routine office hours.
Depending on your child’s symptoms, our triage service may recommend home care, an appointment when the office reopens, urgent care, or emergency department evaluation.
